The One Where She Learns Where the Money Went

Here is an update to the woman and her theft.

She went to the police station on Greenbank and filed a police report and gave them her statement and a copy of the bank records to assist the police in possibly finding the thieves.

Unfortunately, the police report case number that she was given did not register into the computer and so Constable Kennedy called her to let her know the new case number and informed her that her case will be transferred to the fraud department.

On Wednesday, the woman received a phone call from her bank saying that they have returned the money to her, including the service charges, to her account since she was obviously not out of the country at the time the money was taken out.

When opening her mail on Thursday evening the woman received her bank statement for the month and noticed that the money had been taken out in Indonesia. Jati Makmur, Bekasi, Indonesia to be exact. They took out 1,500,000 rupiah each time for a total of 3,000,000 rupiah. The woman did a quick search on the internet and found that to buy a loaf of bread in Indonesia it costs around 3,800 rupiah which is approximately $.32 USD.

Instantly, the woman felt sorry for the people who stole her money. What if they stole the money to feed a starving family? She doesn't want anyone to starve, even if they are thieves. Although, if they didn't need the money to eat, the woman silently hoped that they will receive whatever punishment they deserve when they pass on.

Sadly, the woman thinks that is all that will be done in regard to the theft of her banking information.
No news as to the thieves on her side of the pond however.
